Let’s Power New Possibilities Together

At UC Riverside, our vibrant, diverse, and thriving campus is a rocket ship, accelerating ideas and powering new possibilities. With more than 60 years of real-world, high-impact research conducted by award-winning faculty — including two Nobel Prize winners, 11 Fulbright Scholars, and 28 members of the National Academies — we are redefining the role of a great 21st century public research university.

As a member of the world’s most prestigious public university system — and in the top 1.3% of universities worldwide, according to the Center for World University Rankings — UCR is launching the next generation of innovative thinkers. Our esteemed faculty drive this mission, elevating our students through a great education, world leading research, and knowledge-driven impact.

Our faculty are trailblazers, continually challenge the status quo and inspiring students to do the same. Our Botany and Plant Sciences Department includes five female National Academy of Sciences members, the largest of any single academic department in the nation.

Our acclaimed faculty are ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated to make a difference, finding creative and meaningful solutions to the world’s most pressing problems through their interdisciplinary and groundbreaking research. We’re here to support them.

Academic Personnel Office

The Academic Personnel Office (APO) is committed to leading and serving UCR’s diverse and internationally renowned academic community. Office staff provide support for faculty appointments and development, merit reviews and promotions, leaves of absence, fellowships, and more. The office handles employment matters for all academic employees — from faculty and lecturers to adjunct professors and librarians — and is a great resource for navigating UCR policies and processes.
